Drone

This is one of my most complex projects, as it combines a wide range of disciplines such as aerodynamics, system stability, electronics, programming, computer vision, android app development ... After spending a long time designing and assembling my first prototype, soon came my first headache, I was unable to fine tune the PID parameters. After a bit of research and trial and error I finally came to the conclusion that the problem was due to the speed of the microcontroller (16MHz) being too low. Then I switched to an ARM based 72MHz microcontroller, and I finally got it to fly (almost). This is still an ongoing project, and I am currently redesigning the housing to distribute better the mass of the drone, I am also adding some extra functionalities such as hovering and return home.

AI

After researching, reading some papers and learning the bases of AI algorithms such as gradient descent, backpropagation… I decided to put in practice those concepts that I had learned, creating a kind of evolutionary algorithm based app, that takes as parameter a loss function and tries to minimize it “randomly”, called GenDot. After that I moved on to develop a real State of the Art modern AI model like CycleGan and Pix2Pix. I started by reading their corresponding papers, then I implemented them in Tensorflow and trained them for a while. My initial approach was to embed that model in an android app, but after exporting my model I realized that it was too large. Then I switched to the idea of creating a server that makes the inference remotely instead of locally, thus the user just needs to send the image and the server would return the inferenced one.

Launchpad

This EDM instrument caught my eye while I was watching music remix videos on Youtube. I spent more than 2 weeks to design the PCB, the 3D printed housing and internal structure, as well as deciding which microcontroller, LEDs and I/O port expander to use. After assembling everything and programming the firmware, I had to fix a bottleneck that I was having with the MIDI-in protocol, that was causing the LEDs to refresh at a low rate, thus not showing the light effects properly.

During the last few years I have developed a few casual games for Android. Almost every game that I developed was written in processing and exported as an apk packet. After developing some of my games I decided to implement an AI mode, where a neural network learned to defeat the game.

Email Spoofer

This project was part of a high school speech on Cyber-Security that I did years ago. The speech was meant to make people aware of security issues and hacking methods that are usually used. This E-mail Spoofing Demo consists of an HTML frontend that registers the user's "credentials" and a PHP backend that executes the e-mail spoofing script.

3D Printer

This DIY printer was one of my first projects. Assembling everything was the challenging part, as I had to align properly every axis to get good prints. The G-Code parser was not an easy task to program neither. It was a stepper motor based 3D printer, that parses G-Code coming from the serial port of the microcontroller and controls the motors through a PWM signal sent to the motor drivers.
